Sabang Beach in Puerto Galera - Philippines

Sabang Beach lies in the east of Puerto Galera. If you are planning to visit the beach, you can hire big boats or bancas in Batangas to take you straight to Sabang beach. Keep in mind that these bancas are to be arranged beforehand. Once in Sabang, you will notice that most, if not all, rely on walking the main mode of transportation on the beach.

Ironically, tourists do not often come to Sabang Beach for its beach because swimming activities are often spoiled by too many boats afloat. The place has become well-developed, but has also taken its toll with the establishments coming right down to the shoreline. Nevertheless, Sabang Beach does not run out of charms to offer. Diving is extremely popular at Sabang Beach. There are dive sites that will suit you, may you be a beginner or seasoned diver. Competent dive shops are easy to find. The Sabang wrecks are popular dives in Puerto Galera. After diving, you ca go straight to the floating bar accessed only by boaters or divers. Such a charming way to finish a diving or boating activity.

Aside from the ever present scuba diving shops, there are also hotels, shops, restaurants and believe it or not, hairdressers. There are a lot of places to eat along the shore. But real gustatory and social fun starts when the lights go down and the town excitingly comes to life. The restaurants offer good food and good service. Girly bars are also a highlight at night. There are scores of billiard rooms and discos which are open until the wee hours of the morning, allowing you to stay up late as long as you want.

There are no usual shopping centres in Sabang Puerto Galera but you can always find a quaint little shop or stall selling dyed shorts, shirts and other souvenir items. The accessories available often come in the form of anklets, necklaces, or bracelets. They are quite beautiful especially the black pearls. Haggling is a required way to get the best of goods without putting a hole on your wallet. The local vendors will also eye you with more respect. The place has its fair share of Internet Cafes. There are also a number of money changers in the area. Stretching diagonally from the main road is a smaller road that will lead you to the markets where you can purchase fresh produce.
